This year marks the tenth anniversary of the CRPD (The Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities), a United Nations initiative and international collaboration to secure equal rights under the law for individuals with disabilities and to abolish discriminatory policies and practices.

To celebrate the anniversary and the global progress made possible by the CRPD, a group of students are working with the UN to create a celebratory gallery and virtual exhibit called “1 Billion Voices.” This exhibit will showcase images and messages from students around the world with disabilities, and will be displayed on December 2 in the UN.

Princeton students were invited to participate in this celebration by having their picture and individual message uploaded to 1 Billion Voices.
