ACCOMMODATE: For all your accommodation process needs
Beginning 2/1/21, all students who would like to request accommodations for a disability will utilize the Accommodate system for student services processes. This includes scheduling of appointments with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) staff, requesting accommodations, notifying faculty of approved accommodations, arranging notetakers for courses, borrowing assistive technology and requesting alternative format text materials.
In addition, the Accommodate portal will allow students 24-hour access to all of their disability information including: approved accommodations, pending requests, accommodation notification letters, current and historical ODS appointments, uploaded documentation and documents, borrowed technology and more.
To learn how to navigate the various tasks and processes for student services, please click on the Students page. Training modules can be accessed on the Students page and include modules with step-by-step instructions as well as recorded live demonstrations of the process.

The transition to a new disability management system will require students to engage in accommodation processes through ACCOMMODATE, rather than completing paper forms or making requests by email.
Below are some of the important changes:- Requests for accommodation notification to faculty will be made through ACCOMMODATE rather than through the Course Roster form. We will no longer use the Course Roster form.
- Approved students will request notetakers and other resource assistants through ACCOMMODATE rather than using the Resource Assistant Request form. We will no longer use the Resource Assistant Request form, but you will be required to complete a survey in ACCOMMODATE to let us know of your notetaking needs.
- Approved students seeking supplemental/additional accommodations will do so through ACCOMMODATE by making a "Supplemental Request."
- Students will make requests to borrow ODS assistive technology or clean laptops through the ACCOMMODATE system.
- Approved students will request alternative format text through ACCOMMODATE rather than contacting ODS directly to make these requests.
- Students will make appointments with ODS through ACCOMMODATE.

Students who have completed the registration process with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) and have been approved for academic accommodations must notify their course faculty of their approved accommodations each semester. This “accommodation notification” to faculty is managed in Accommodate by making a “semester request.”
This request should be made through the Accommodate system by the end of the add/drop period or as soon as possible if accommodations are approved during the semester. Visit the ODS student services page for more information.
When making the semester request, students can select which approved accommodations they want included in the notification letter. When a course is selected, all faculty associated with the course will receive an email notifying them that a student accommodation notification letter is available to view in Accommodate. It is important to note that preceptors or TA’s working with the course faculty will not receive notification. Either the student or the faculty must forward the letter to any preceptor or TA that needs to have this information.

Students who would like to meet with an ODS staff member may make an appointment through Accommodate. This process will allow you to make an appointment request for a specific date and time. If ODS staff are not available at your preferred time, you will receive an email instructing you to email [email protected] with your availability. ODS will then schedule your appointment and you will receive an email confirming the date and time and informing you of the staff member who you will be meeting with. If you would like to request a particular staff member, you can do so in the comment box with your initial request.

If you are a current Princeton University student and are not already registered with the Office of Disability Services (ODS) for accommodations, you may make a new request for accommodations using the Request for Accommodations form, which is also available on the ODS home page.
Students must submit a completed Request for Accommodations form and your treatment provider must submit documentation to support your request. Please visit the ODS home page for forms or the Student Services page for documentation requirements. Please note that requests will not be reviewed until we have both the Request for Accommodations form as well as documentation supporting your request. Accommodation request reviews may take 2-3 weeks, depending on the volume of requests at that time.
Please visit the Student Services page for more information on the process to request accommodations.
